A Tribute and Condolence Message for the Late Fr. Lawrence Maniyar, SJ

With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Fr. Lawrence Maniyar, a deeply religious priest, a compassionate human being, and a dear friend of the CJs in Nepal.

Fr. Lawrence’s support and friendship over the years have been immeasurable. Through his various responsibilities, particularly as Principal of St. Xavier’s, Jawalakhel and Regional Superior of the Nepal Jesuits, he stood by us with unwavering commitment, generosity, and brotherly care.

We especially cherish the memory of his steadfast support during the difficult and turbulent periods of Nepal’s history. At times when uncertainty and challenges surrounded us, his presence, encouragement, and solidarity were a great source of strength and comfort to the CJs. His friendship was not merely expressed in words but demonstrated through his actions and his readiness to stand beside us when it mattered most.

Today, as we bid farewell to a dear friend and a dedicated servant of God, we give thanks to the Lord for the gift of his life, his priestly ministry, and the many lives he touched through his faith, kindness, and selfless service.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayerful solidarity to the Jesuit Fathers, his family, friends, and all who mourn his passing. May the Lord, whom he served so faithfully, welcome him into His eternal embrace and grant him the reward of everlasting life.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. His memory will remain alive in our hearts, and we, the CJs in Nepal, will always cherish his friendship and the legacy of his generous support.
